Sheltered Housing

Sheltered accommodation is a warden controlled scheme that is available to applicants over 50 years of age.

The role of the warden is to act as a “good neighbour”. They are not employed to administer drugs or provide nursing care. Each morning the warden will “call” their residents using an intercom system. However, they will only call those residents that have requested it. The warden is provided with a master key to each property within their scheme, although this is only used for emergencies.

There are 6 schemes with 195 units throughout the Borough, the schemes are located:

  • Cae’r Wern, Ynysfach
  • Greenwood Close, Twynyrodyn
